And these are the people deciding America’s fate???????

Oh……. my……. gosh…….

The Reality of the American Clean Energy and Security Act

Friday, June 26th, 2009

What Obama and the left would do to America by passing HR2454 is much more severe than they would care to admit (if they cared, that is).

I posted a video yesterday of Obama admitting his “cap and trade” plan would cause electric rates to skyrocket.  The reason I posted it is to show everyone Obama is not only fully aware of what will happen to electric rates under his plan but he is fine with it.

Today I will reference the article Waxman-Markey: Man-Made Disaster from Investors Business Daily. This article does an excellent job laying out just how ridiculous and damaging this bill will be.

Here are a couple of excerpts from the article:

_______

Its centerpiece is a “cap and trade” provision that has been rightfully derided as “cap and tax.” It is in fact a tax on energy everywhere it is consumed on everything it is used to make or provide.

Consumers would pay through the nose as electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket, as President Obama once put it, by 90% adjusted for inflation. Inflation-adjusted gasoline prices would rise 74%, residential natural gas prices by 55% and the average family’s annual energy bill by $1,500.

Hit hardest by all this would be the “95% of working families” Obama keeps mentioning as being protected from increased taxation. They are protected, that is, unless they use energy. Then they’ll be hit by this draconian energy tax.

And what would we get for all this pain? According to an analysis by Chip Knappenberger, administrator of the World Climate Report, the reduction of U.S. CO2 emissions to 83% below 2005 levels by 2050 — the goal of the Waxman-Markey bill — would reduce global temperature in 2050 by a mere 0.05 degree Celsius.

_______

All in government are fully aware of the financial ramifications this bill will have on America and the virtual zero effect this bill will have on the world’s temperature.  Obama and the left know how much more per month the average American will be charged for electricity and gas if this bill goes their way.  And you know what they are saying to us, the American people, when it comes to these increased costs for zero gain?  THEY DO NOT CARE!!!!!  Obama and company know how much this bill will take out of our pockets and could care less.  The only things Obama and the supporters of this bill care about are getting their bill through.  That’s it and that’s all.

This bill will not benefit America or us, the people.  But Obama and company do not care.

HR2454 is going to hurt America (and badly)

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

We’ve all heard about the “cap and trade” bill many on the left are working on (officially called HR2454 Waxman-Markley American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009).  Looks like the left’s hard work is coming to fruition.

The House of Representatives is getting ready to vote on this bill, but first they need to get the bill fully prepared.  What exactly is included in the bill or what the House is doing in its final preparations is unclear, but it must be something really special.  There is no way a bill could ever go from a measly 946 pages last week to 1,201 pages this week (and growing) unless it was full of really really intelligent stuff.

To give you an idea what to expect, here’s the summary from opencongress.org:
This is the Waxman-Markley comprehensive energy bill, known for short as “ACES,” that includes a cap-and-trade global warming reduction plan designed to reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions 17 percent by 2020. Other provisions include new renewable requirements for utilities, studies and incentives regarding new carbon capture and sequestration technologies, energy efficiency incentives for homes and buildings, and grants for green jobs, among other things.

Sounds pretty good, eh?  This bill is hitting all the major talking points: reduce pollution, improve efficiency, and create jobs.  But there is one thing that has been left out of this summary:  the cost (Heritage Foundation on CBO estimate).

So, what kind of impact can we, as American citizens, expect from a cap and trade system?  How about we go straight to the source on this one.  I give you Obama the Great:

Yup.  Obama said “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket”. Obama and the left know this will not only increase American’s electric rates but skyrocket them them and they don’t care.

Times tough financially for you?  Too bad.

Have to pay for a child’s college education?  So what.

Feeling bad because you can’t contribute more to your retirement?  Oh well

None of this matters.  The left came up with a 1,200 page bill so they could put into place a cap and trade system and they will make darn well sure that cap and trade system is put into place regardless of how much it will hurt America.

P.S.  many experts say this bill will do nothing to improve the environment.
