Obama wants a delay in the Fort Hood investigation

Obama has told Congress he does not want them investigating the Fort Hood massacre until federal law enforcement and the military can complete their investigation.  Which is nothing more than a stall tactic.

Ed Morrissey of Hot Air puts it very well in his posting:  “Fortunately, this country can walk and chew gum at the same time”.

There is no reason why Congress should not and cannot run their own investigation, starting immediately.  Waiting only makes the investigation more difficult and can compromise the accuracy of the information, all of which can (and will) compromise the findings.

And this is what Obama wants.

Obama has been a huge apologist, saying to the world America has to share the blame for the hatred terrorist groups and certain countries hold for us.  He is also a huge supporter of the Muslim religion.  Having Congress investigate this massacre puts Obama in jeopardy of having to face the investigation and it’s outcome, which could easily find that there were warning signs that were ignored because of this man’s religious beliefs (Muslim, if you don’t already know).  This is an outcome Obama does not want to face.  If Obama can talk Congress into delaying their investigation, the relevancy of the investigation will be reduced and, more importantly, people will have put the massacre somewhat behind them, making the topic lower in profile on a political scale.

Nothing good can come out of the investigations of the Fort Hood massacre for Obama.  He can’t stop the military or federal law enforcement investigations.  But he can try to minimize the damage coming his way by delaying Congress.
